All Quiet on the Western Front reading assignments

Expectation for each assignment:
To show you've done the assigned reading, please make note of three parts of the reading that strike you (because you found them emotional, significant to the story, had a question about what was happening, etc.) and briefly describe why you chose them.  Indicate where in the reading it occurred by citing the page and including a brief textual reference (quote).  Select something from the beginning, middle and end of the reading to show you read the entirety of the assignment.

Due Monday for B and C blocks:  chapters 1 and 2

A link to a digital copy of the novel can be found here.

Assignments - 1/4-1/11

Read chapter 25 section 4 ("The British Take Over India") and chapter 29 section 3 ("India Seeks Self-Rule") and complete the right side of the organizer (India:  colonization to independence) given out in class Monday.  You do not need to outline the sections, but do need to read them well and make connections between the documents you saw in class and the textbook reading.  Due Wednesday 1/6 for B and E blocks, Thursday 1/7 for C block.

Read chapter 25 section 5 and add three or more facts to each side of the "Imperialism:  force for good or evil?" two-column organizer you previously started.  Due Thursday 1/7 for all classes.

Monday 1/11 will be your imperialism test.  Same format as previous tests (multiple choice and a free response prompt).  Here are study questions to help you review.
