due next week and directions for class on Friday 5/20

Due Monday 5/23:  the second part of chapter 31 section 3, from "turning points" to the end.

Due Tuesday 5/24 (for C and E blocks) or Wednesday 5/25 for B block:  section 4 (which is the last section you'll be reading from this chapter for now).

Directions for B and C blocks for class on Friday 5/20:

Pick up one of each of the following:
1.  "World War II:  Steps to the Final Solution" (a blank chart/graphic organizer)
2.  "Under the Cover of War:  World War II and the Final Solution" (a printed out PowerPoint)
3.  ONE of the handouts marked with a letter (A, B, C, D, E, F, or G).

Directions:
1.  Read whatever lettered reading you picked up.  In the chart/organizer, record the document name or title, a summary of the document and your thoughts on what's striking or noteworthy about it.
2.  Then, find someone in the class who has a different reading, and share information with him/her. 3.  Make notes in the chart based on your exchange of information about the readings.  Do this until you've completed the chart.
Read though the "Under the Cover of War" PowerPoint and, on the back of the sheet with the chart, record something surprising, interesting and troubling that you read.
